To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of the first film in 1977, this value-packed box set includes all five theatrical films of "Space Battleship Yamato," which were previously sold individually on DVD. This series initially concluded with the first installment, a TV compilation, and the second installment, "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love." However, the subsequent TV series, "Space Battleship Yamato 2," differed in its ending from "Farewell," creating a parallel world. This led to the production of "Space Battleship Yamato: A New Voyage" as a TV movie (later released in theaters), followed by the theatrical film "Yamato Forever," the TV series "Space Battleship Yamato 3," and finally the theatrical film "Space Battleship Yamato: The Final Chapter." While personal preference plays a role, comparing the endings of both versions in this box set is certainly interesting. Personally, I'm definitely a "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato" fan, and I still vividly remember the enthusiasm and excitement of young people across Japan when it was released in August 1978.
