[Our perspective on shinai] We do not carry a wide variety of shinai. We high-quality options at reasonable prices for easier purchasing. We do not handle extremely cheap shinai that do not guarantee safety. [Note] This does not include tsuba or tsuba holders. If you are looking for tsuba or tsuba holders, please search here. [Frequently Asked Questions] Q. Can this product be used in competitions? A. Yes, you can use it in competitions without any issues. Q. Why is the regular shinai priced at 2,190 yen (excluding tax), while this one is 1,400 yen (excluding tax)? A. The quality of the bamboo is almost the same, but this one has more blemishes and scratches, and the shape of the handle leather differs, resulting in the price difference. [Are scratches on the surface of the bamboo considered defects?] When the product arrives and you try to use the shinai, you might notice blemishes or scratches on the surface and wonder if it is defective. If these scratches are natural marks caused by rubbing against neighboring bamboo, there is no problem. In fact, bamboo with such natural marks is often stronger. Bamboo that has grown under external stress becomes tougher.
