In the year 2059, on the galactic immigrant fleet "Macross Frontier," aiming for a new home, young Alto Saotome, aspiring to be a pilot, felt a sense of isolation.

At that time, the concert tour of Sheryl Nome, the galaxy's top diva, arrives at the fleet. Alto is at the concert venue with Ranka Lee, a girl who admires Sheryl.
